Thomas Huntzicker Thomas became aware of subtle energies at a very young age when he would sit on the porch with his father gazing at the stars. It was his father who first introduced him to meditation and awareness techniques although neither one of them knew it at the time. In college he was unsatisfied with the traditional psychology track and discovered that the abstracts of Philosophy (particularly Eastern traditions) helped him to better understand both himself and the world around him. He combined the two majors and graduated with a degree in Human Consciousness and Cognition. For one of his capstone courses, Thomas spent thirty days in a meditation intensive at Zen Mountain Monastery. He was formally trained in the Zazen and the precepts of Zen Buddhism in the Mountains and Rivers Order. Thomas continued his quest for knowledge at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology where he concentrated on Meditation and Ego Dissolution techniques for Adult Depression. He also spent time there learning about the Rhythm of Life through drumming. Thomas has an extensive background working with youth with psychiatric disorders. He is a certified Karuna and Usui Master/Teacher through the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT), a Certified Meditation Instructor through the American Institute of Healthcare Professionals (AIHCP) and has experience facilitating various holistic workshops on a community, undergraduate, and graduate level. He is on a never-ending quest to better understand himself and the world around him. |
